Army Men: Red Rising

Post by Sgt ¼ on Wed May 06, 2015 1:01 am

I will write a fan fiction which it's goals is to explore the story of a side that made rare appearances in the Army Men series, the Red Republic, after the events of Sarge's War. It's secondary task is to provide an alternative explanation of what happens to the plastic world after the defeat of Lord Malice. Well it's only a fan fiction, so read at your own risk.

prologue:

Following the defeat of the Tan Army multiple times, the Tans suffered too much casualty to further continue warring with their neighbours. Though it seemed like some hope of turning the tide of the war was possible, the battle at Greentown definitely put an end of such hope: There was no victory guaranteed should they continue to fight. The peace ceremony in Greentown was interrupted by a rogue division of the Tan Army commanded by Malice. However, in the end, even that last resisting Tan force was crushed. Deeply weakened after the Greentown Battle and Lord Malice's little rebellion, the Tan Republic could no longer control the vast territories it had once conquered.

The secretly Tan-controlled Blue Nation severed it's ties with the Tans. The Grays, once mighty warriors, regained independence from their tyrannic Tan overlords and are now re-building the nation. The Black and Orange nations regained independence as well through negotiations, they signed treaties of neutrality and economic pacts with the other nations. The Cult, a force once thought to have been destroyed, has returned under a new leadership and it's increase in activity is keeping the Green Army busy, unaware that their once inconspicuous ally, the Red Republic, is making moves in the Tan Republic, now torn by a civil war due to the power vacuum caused by the death of General Plastro...

I'm not sure if I want to continue the story anymore. Also I'm kind of occupied doing other things. Well, just in case I never finish it, here it is.
Chapter 1 Part 1 (UNFINISHED&UNCORRECTED):

The sudden bursts of gunfire roar like mad lions, bullets fly high and low, trying to find home where plastic is fresh, full and standing tall. Wannabe-General whines quick in combat situations and he cowardly runs twice as fast, twice as much. They told him the jungle was away, far from war, that he risked only the loss of time and combat experience in that remote part of the Plastic World. That's what he thought, the Wannabe-General, that's what he thought. But he shouldn't waste his precious time running around in crazy pansy panic, while lost in as much crazy thoughts. A bullet finds a target, swiftly it makes it's nest in the fresh plastic skin of a nearby comrade. The sergeant's voice reaches the panicked
soldier: "Hey soldier, are you trying to get us all killed!? Just go hide and watch, Private Pile!"

The sergeant grins not, even if Wannabe-General acts like a nut. In real combat, plastic men must not falter, plastic men must not cede to panic, they must fight with all they got, will all their guts. To the sergeant, war is a darn serious matter and if his enemies behave as well as that pansy rookie under his orders, they might very will meet death sooner or later. The difference between Wannabe-General and the sergeant is that the sergeant thinks not, he takes action, he politely responds to the greetings of the enemy guns. In that sense, he's a well educated man. The gentleman of war that he is holds what he calls potatoes, slowly towards enemy positions he goes and far he throws.

A boom is heard, an explosion, an excitation of all the doom in that darn forest. The bullets stop flying, Private Pile stops flying, calm invades the jungle as suddenly as it had left it. The sergeant walks towards the rookie, angry, he stares, glares through his soldier as if there is no man standing there. The sergeant shouts, loud he is when he let his voice out. he tells him what war's about, then he says how disappointed he is: "Privaaaate Piiile! You utterly disgust me. Are you a green soldier?! ARE YOU A GREEN SOLDIER?!!" Wannabe-General opens his mouth, yet cannot utter a sound. "WHEN I ASK QUESTIONS EVEN HIGH CLASS BITCHIN PUSSIES LIKE YOU HAVE TO COME UP WITH AN ANSWER!!" Mighty general pile pronounce a sound, then one, then another, suddenly cured of his inability to speak: "Yesss... sir!"

The sergeant plans a counter-attack with the surviving members of the squad. As they prepare to depart, the sergeant orders the protagonist to go back to the base and report what happened in the jungle to the commanding officer. Clearly, the sergeant doesn't trust Wannabe-General anymore, well not enough to go follow the rest of the men in combat operations. To be honest, he doesn't mind, he prefers it the way which has fewer risks. Private Pile, also known as He-Wannabe-General or Wannabe-General for when he had told his instructor at the training camp that he wants to be general before his fellow trainees get to attain the rank of corporal, is despite his ambitious goal, not someone motivated by war. He has never hidden
the fact that he disliked the idea of going into battle, he even once thought aloud that he came from the wrong mould. His cowardly attitude has earned him a few war names, mockeries from his brothers-in-arms. Since he left the training camp, no one ever called him by his name again.

As he walks back to the base, he remembers how life was back in the camp. He was always
